Dan Goatham
Dan Goatham is a veteran of the punk scene, a Canterbury-based singer, bassist, guitarist, and songwriter with more than two decades of road-tested experience behind him. Known for his versatility, humor, and restless creative energy, he has built a career that stretches across beloved underground bands, international touring lineups, and some of British punk’s most enduring names.
He cut his teeth the proper way: sweaty Kent venues with ska-punk outfits MARTIN and MPA, before fronting the politically charged 7 Day Conspiracy, who spent the 2000s becoming one of the South East’s most relentlessly sought-after punk acts. Then came Southport, the band of original Snuff guitarist Simon Wells, where Goatham was central to the writing, recording, and touring of their critically acclaimed album Southern Soul.
In 2014, he founded Spoilers, the Canterbury melodic punk four-piece that wears its influences not as a badge, but as a second skin. Think Leatherface, Mega City Four, the great lineage of British bands who understood that melody hits harder when it has a bit of grit under the fingernails. As lead vocalist and guitarist, Goatham has steered the band through a run of releases on SBÄM Records, including the Stay Afloat EP, the 2018 album Roundabouts, and the 2023 mini-album There or Thereabouts.
In 2018, a long-standing friendship with British punk legends Snuff turned professional. Stepping in as bassist, Goatham’s driving rhythm, vocal energy, and unmistakable stage presence slotted seamlessly into the band’s live show, and he’s since featured on a string of releases including Crepuscolo dorato…, Off On The Charabanc, and the acoustic curveball Come and Have a Go If You Think You’re Rachmaninoff. As a member of Snuff, he’s helped recalibrate one of the UK’s most beloved punk acts for yet another chapter, which, given Snuff’s history, is saying something.
His reputation as a player and vocalist has also made him a recurring collaborator across the wider punk community. Goatham has toured with US-based City Mouse and stepped in with punk rock supergroup Spike and the Gimme Gimmes, taking the guitarist slot on their 2025 Christmas UK run and upcoming 2026 European “Take The Fall” tour alongside CJ Ramone, Andrew Pinch, Jake Kiley, and Spike Slawson.
Now, with a solo project called Wincheap quietly taking shape, acoustic shows on the horizon, and a new record in development, Goatham is doing what lifers do best: moving forward, making noise, and proving there is still plenty of road left.
